May Day is known for pinko commies marching in the streets. But I was too lazy for a walk today, so I blogged instead. Today marks a new life for an old site. I launched the Masters Track & Field Home Page on AOL in February 1996. With Dave Clingan, I started masterstrack.com in 1999. Now this. Why this? It’s a long story, but I’m looking for a better platform for advertising. Stay tuned for that. Also excuse any format issues or technical hiccups as I sort out settings and customize this sucker. (I’m using a WordPress theme called MH NewsDesk.) I’m thinking of creative ways to lighten my load while I get into heavy topics here. I’ll be formally inviting y’all to submit guest columns. I’ll do polls. I’ll try my hand at photo galleries (replacing one on mcom that kind of crashed.) But don’t worry about the old site. It’ll never go away. So thanks for bookmarking this site (CNTRL-D in your favorite browser). I hope to rock you.

It’ll take a while to match the 33,000 comments on the old site, but we’ll start here. The old rules still apply: You can rip me a new one, but be nice to your fellow athletes. I have the power to ban. (Look for me in the Marvel Universe.)
Looks great! Best of luck on your new endeavor.
Ken, congrats on another re-birth of your blog :-). Do I win a prize for posting the first comment?!?
cheers!
Looking forward to the new platform

Ken,
As a regular writer in my professional life, and as a very enthusiastic, good but-not-yet-great runner, I would be interested in the guest column idea. I’ve thought a number of times over the years about topics I’d like to see addressed on your site.
Let me know if you’d like some suggestions,
Doug
Thank you for keeping the sport alive. And as I answered you the first time we meet and you asked “how long have you been training?”
My answer is still the same “What time is it?”
Blog on Ken! Thanks for so many years of dedication to the sport!

Will be sure to follow it.
Just found the new blog, really good! Always liked your other platform, this one looks more “modern”
